GCBA presents the Inaugural Crescent Bar Opening Day of Boating - The Crescent Bar Cup, Saturday May 18th, 2024. It's the official opening day of boating for Crescent Bar. Register your boat and join in the fun!

The first 30 boats to register will make Crescent Bar history with their boat full of fun! We will be judging every boat so start planning your epic entry! The top three entries will live in infamy on the Crescent Bar Cup trophy which will be displayed at Tower Pizza all year. If you need ideas Google "boat parade" to get your own theme. Pirates, Yacht Club, Disco, Surfers- oh my! Once you have your theme simply decorate your boat, grab your friends plan your costumes. Be prepared to dance to your own music and show us why you should be the winners.

The parade will start in the back bay at 10:00 AM sharp. The judging will happen in the marina between the commercial dock and our famous Crescent Bar bridge. Come down to the marina early to get the best seats and cheer on the contestants.

We will have a DJ spinning tunes and announcing entries during the event. We will have fun props for the crowd on the bridge to get into the action. We expect the parade to last from 10 AM until Noon.

Don't have a boat or its not quite ready to hit the water? Come on down and join the fun at the boat launch. We would love to have you join us to cheer on your friends and neighbors.

When the event is done the contestants and attendees of the event are invited to go to Tower Pizza for free pizza (drinks not included). Here we will announce the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. These top three will live forever with their boat name engraved on our Crescent Bar Cup trophy which will be proudly displayed at Tower Pizza all year. Next year, plan on joining the parade so you too can become a Crescent Bar legend.

The Crescent Bar Cup is a boat parade. The process is pretty simple:

Get down to the boat launch early enough to get your entry package at the launch and then get you and your mates in the water and into the back channel by 10:00AM.
The Admiral of the parade will start the parade at 10:00AM sharp. The boats will move orderly behind the lead boat but do not need to be in sequential number. NOTE: Only boats with official numbers will be scored.
If the water is high, the parade will go in the channel behind the island and towards the marina.
If the water is low, the parade will go the oppoosite direction through the main river and back into the Marina. This decision is made by the lead boat.
Each boat will be judged in the marina so space each boat approximately 5 boat lengths. This will prevent bunching up at the judging dock.
The judging takes place from the commercial dock to the bridge or if the water is low, the bridge to the commerical dock.
Every boat name will be announced and people will watch from above so bring on your best performance!

Your boat driver must have a valid boater license and be capable of safely operating a boat. We will have multiple boats and people on the water and may have the Sheriff's department in the water for emergencies. BE SAFE!
